Welcome to the inaugural Australian Military History Spectacular proudly presented by the Military Historical Society of Australia Queensland Division to be held on Queensland's Sunshine Coast at the Caloundra RSL on October 14 - 16 2022.

This spectacular event highlights Australia’s military involvement and development in domestic and global actions since the Vietnam War.

It will honour and commemorate our Defence Force personnel who served in operations, peacekeeping and domestic security of our nation and people.
It will highlight the development of our Defence Force through the years following the Vietnam War to the present.


  • Over 20 sessions with presenters from the military and corporate world sharing their stories and experiences
  • Social sessions to share stories first hand with others interested in how our military and national histories are entwined
  • Demonstrations of military equipment, technology, weapons, vehicles and uniforms
  • See the variety of rolls played by defence force dogs and their amazing handlers

Our Speakers

We are excited to have distinguished guest speakers taking part in our inaugural event to share their wide and varied knowledge and experiences with the Australian Defence Forces both in theatres of conflict and peace keeping operations at home and abroad. While some of our keynote speakers have actively served in the defence forces, others have contributed vital support services to ADF personnel before, during and post deployment.

Military Historical Society Australia - Queensland Branch

The Queensland division is the largest branch of the MHSA
and is a not-for-profit, incorporated organisation.

The Objectives are:


  • The encouragement and pursuit of study and research in military history, customs, traditions, dress, arms, equipment and kindred matters;
  • The promotion of public interest and knowledge in these subjects, and the preservation of historical military objects, with particular reference to the Armed Forces of Australia and the current Australian Defence Force ADF.
  • The promotion of public interest and knowledge in these subjects and the promotion of the achievements and good reputation of our Defence personnel, past and present

We conduct gatherings of members and the public to hear guest speakers, exchange knowledge and display items of militaria on the second Saturday in January, March, May, July, September and November in different locations around SE Qld and regional areas.



Articles of military interest are published in the national journal Sabretache and the Qld journal Tribute.
